    Calling all Math and Numeracy Practitioners! Are you ready to dive into a thought-provoking discussion on "Everyday Math and School Math"?

    Our upcoming meet-up promises to be a stimulating session where we'll explore the intersections between everyday math and school math, aiming to enrich our teaching practices. This casual conversation facilitates idea-sharing and insights among practitioners, fostering collaborative learning.

    In addition to delving into teaching methodologies, we'll also delve into crucial topics surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion access in the adult mathematics classroom. Your perspectives and experiences are invaluable as we collectively work towards creating more inclusive and empowering learning environments.

    This is a casual meet-up, a time for us (practitioners, administrators, researchers, lovers of math) to share our stories to grow in our educational practice. There will be discussion questions for us to answer and keep us on track, but this is not a webinar.  I look forward to seeing you there.

    ABSTRACT
    Join OCTAE’s Enhancing Access for Refugees and New Americans (EARN) project as we highlight and discuss newly available and upcoming resources to support IELCE implementation. EARN resources include videos, spotlights on effective practices, and guides and tools to support implementation on the topics of immigrant integration, the components of IELCE/IET, instructional delivery approaches, and learner-centered approaches.

    Inspiration and Teaching Resources for Climate Hope, Student Leadership, and Transformative Action!

    There are many compelling reasons to include climate hope and transformative action in our adult education curricula. During this coffee break, we will discuss the many benefits of doing this, and explore related teaching strategies and resources.

    The Adult Literacy and Learning Impact Network (ALL IN) is a collective impact initiative formed by national thought leaders in the adult learning field and beyond. In the age of information, the types of literacies needed to participate in society have increased dramatically. Moving forward, we need to think differently about how we define, support, and measure adult literacy skills development, not in terms of reading levels, but in terms of multiple literacies that yield multiple possibilities. Join this session to learn more about our collective impact effort to improve multiple literacy skills, including digital, information, health, and family literacy.
